Engineering & Tooling, has all the conditions to be distinguished as a Cluster of competitiveness, benefiting from a number of significant advantages, especially at three levels:
- Industry Marketing (at both levels, nationally and internationally, our Tooling & Engineering Industry is distinguished not only by the Portuguese Government, but also at International level, it becomes more clear its recognition as a sector of strategic action for the development of economy);
- Designing Specific Programs for the Industry (ease of coordination with the Government and the incentives to industry);
- Increases of 5% incentive value for all projects of companies and organizations members of the Engineering & Tooling Cluster within the QREN.
Collective Efficiency Strategies (CES)
Collective Efficiency Strategies (CES) means a set of coherent and strategically justified initiatives integrated in an Action Plan, aiming innovation, qualification or upgrading skills of a cluster of companies deployed nationally, regional or local, to promote, in a structured way, the emergence of agglomeration economies, through cooperation and networking between companies and between them and other actors relevant for the development of the sectors to which they belong and the territories where they are located.
Competitiveness and Technology Clusters
Competitiveness and Technology Clusters are an instrument of encouraging the creation of innovation networks translated into partnerships regarding R&D integrated by private companies, scientific institutions and technological centers, which share a strategic vision based on innovative activities-development-oriented projects of high technological intensity and with strong international orientation and visibility.
